College is History - Art History that is.

Updated: Aug 26

If you ever have the chance to meet Nancy you will learn a few things quickly. She is passionate about art history, a hip chick who works so hard and loves her family. Nancy is the type of women who loves late night coffee/boba runs with my friends or an impromptu nighttime beach trip. I mean, how cool is that. When I got to take Senior pictures of Nancy I learned all these things about her. As an art history major, Nancy has developed a love for the visual arts - makes a photographer nervous 😳.

We decided to start her session at the UCR arts building with its huge stairs and geometric design. Nancy’s red hair and rocking black dress worked that area perfectly. Later we took pictures with her family and you could feel the love she has for her parents and the pride they have for their daughter. Honestly, I love capturing these moments when they student is celebrating their achievements and the parents are celebrating their own achievements too. Moments later, after Nancy changes into her white dress and her Dad kneeled to fix her shoes a tear came to my eye.

Lastly, Nancy is a hard worker. She knows that, it’s okay to not have everything figured out because life has a funny way of tossing your plans around. It’s also okay to change your mind, progress isn’t always linear. This mindset takes work but the success is her's. When we started her Viewing Meeting she seemed tired and she told me she had just finished a 12 hour overnight shift at work. Wow. But, after seeing all the images Nancy got exactly what she wanted and ordered a stunning album, I know she will love, and two canvas wall pieces. One of them was of her and her parents - that is special.

I’m excited for Nancy and her family. They have worked hard and clearly love each other. I’m just blessed to have been there to witness it. If you are ready to have a great senior portrait experience - click below to get our exclusive senior magazine.
