Sunny was a Good Boy

This is certainly not my usual post but I thought I would share anyway. My dear friends Chris and Jack sadly had to support their long time companion as he crossed over the rainbow bridge. That is hard work.

When my friend learned that the end was near, his heart led him to realize that he hadn't really taken any nice pictures of his beloved dog. All he had were low quality pictures he took with the itty bitty camera on his iPhone. Worse still the pictures were really pretty pixilated because they were taken in low light. Certainly, when he took these pictures he wasn't thinking these would be nearly all he had left. By the way this same phenomenon seems to happen to so many of us with our human loved ones as well.

Chris contacted me (not hard because we see each other all the time) and showed me the pictures and asked if there was anything that could be done to make these pictures into something nice to remember Sunny? At first, I was a little at a loss for what to do and then it struck me that with a lot of work in Photoshop I could add brush strokes to every part of the images and basically make a "oil" painting from rough images. This set me on a mission to make my first "paintings." After many hours - a bunch of mistakes and a lot of learning I had three images that honored the love and connection Chris and Jack had for Sunny. I placed them in a collage and printed them on matte metal with a black background. Shortly, after Chris' birthday I was able to give him this gift.

Life is so fragile and so many of us have learned this recently as we have lost loved ones far sooner than we could have ever expected. I think the greatest thing I give my clients and friends is the opportunity to have something to look at that brings back the wonderful memories of the time they shared with their loved ones. I simply don't believe that anyone has ever regretted having a picture of someone (or pet) they love. When you are ready - I am willing to help you capture some beautiful images of your loved ones.
