Wait...is that Wonder Woman?!?

Updated: Aug 26

I am guilty of taking a lot of pictures. It really does come with the business. The funny thing is when I doing a Senior Portraits session I spend much of the time looking through a tiny view finder making sure that the exposure is going to be great, the pictures is framed exactly how you want, and that the Senior I am photographing is posed well. I also talk A LOT - making witty comments and giving the Senior feedback about how they are posing and little adjustments to make. By doing all of these things, I am able to consistently take great senior portraits that all the model's personality and charm to show. However, when the star align and luck is on my side magic happens. Let me tell you how the stars aligned on this senior portraits session in Riverside, CA at UCR.

First, Ariana did all the right things to prepare for her session. She had a beautiful slip dress that complemented her skin tone perfectly. Her second outfit was cool and casual and really allowed her to move around for some great poses. Her hair and make-up had been professionally done - this is huge! And...the weather that day was cloudy. What?!? Cloudy! Yes, it was cloudy and the clouds can make light for beautiful pictures. After taking many images including family pictures and a few in the cap and gown it was time to move to one of my favorite places to shoot. As soon as we got there, there was a little part in the clouds, may off camera flash was set perfectly, I told Ariana to look dead eyes straight into the camera. The moment, I started to press the shutter a tiny gust of wind blew through her hair and it was magic. In that moment, Ariana transformed into Wonder Woman in a cap and gown. She looked ready to take on the world with her diploma in hand.

Ariana and her family were so nice during her senior portraits session. I always love it when the whole family comes so we can take some family pictures at the same time. With such nice lighting, a great model to work with, and a little bit of magic this was an amazing session. I am so happy that Ariana decided to get a stunning platinum leather covered album with gold guided pages, a beautiful framed storyboard, and some gift prints to share.
